Scheduled to open Rolla Summer Softball League earlier this week, Jessica Gibbs’ Vienna Lady Eagles may have to wait until next week to get on the diamond thanks to rain from remnants of Hurricane Beryl.
Vienna was scheduled to open league play last night (Tuesday) in a Highway 42 showdown with Iberia’s Lady Rangers.
That will likely be rescheduled as persistent rain was falling throughout the day Tuesday.
Weather and field conditions permitting, Vienna could open league play today (Wednesday) against Owensville’s Dutchgirls at 7:35 p.m., and 8:55 p.m., on the softball field at Rolla Middle School.
Play for Vienna will continue on Tuesday, July 16 facing Richland’s Lady Bears at 5 p.m., and 6:20 p.m.
They are currently scheduled to conclude league play with two nights of games during the week of July 22.
On Tuesday, July 23, Vienna is slated to take on the host Lady Bulldogs at 7:35 p.m., and 8:55 p.m., before concluding league play on Wednesday, July 24 against former Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) rival Steelville at 5 p.m., and 6:20 p.m.
