BELLE — Belle aldermen on Friday met for 30 minutes in an open session hearing at the Lonnie Feeler Memorial Building to set the city’s 2024-25 tax rate, which will remain the same.
“We can’t raise it,” said Alderman Jeanette Struemph. “It’s at its max.”
Alderman Kevin Guffey made a motion to approve the rate, which passed with a 3-0 vote, as Alderman Steve Vogt was absent.
The following funds will be assessed per $100 of assessed valuation:
General Revenue will be evaluated at .6582 cents. In 2023 the estimated assessment was $14,674,066. The estimated assessed valuation increased to $15,075,288 in 2024 — a $508,385 jump.
The Parks and Recreation tax rate is set at .1611 cents with the same estimated assessed valuation as General Revenue.
The Belle Special Road District tax rate is set at .2447 cents. In 2023 the estimated assessment value was $14,565,169. Assessed valuation in 2024 is $14,971,165 — a $405,996 jump.
