Ralph “Mike” Presson, 77, St. James, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
He was born Sept. 9, 1946, to Donald and Evelyn (Apperson) Presson in Cario, Ill.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mike was united in marriage to Barbara Zychinski, May 2, 1970.
Mike worked for the Industrial Soap Company which was the former Smith-Scharff Paper Company, for over 30 years as a forklift driver.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus, and while he was in St. Louis was active in the Holy Name Society.
Mike was preceded in death by parents Donald and Evelyn; son, Joseph Presson, Sr.; sister, Zandra Crowley; and brothers, Hubert and Donald Presson.
He is survived by wife Barbara, of the home; son, Christopher Presson of St. James; brother, Kenny Presson of Hillsboro; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 27, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. James. Military Honors will follow the Mass. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
