Gerard Joseph Wieberg, 83, passed away Aug. 27, 2024, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City.
He was born Dec. 8, 1940, a son to George and Gertrude (Schwartze) Wieberg near Freeburg.
He attended the Renneke Country School and graduated from Vienna High School in 1958.
Gerard served his country in the U. S. Army from Oct. 9,1962 until Sept. 19, 1964, when he was honorably discharged.
He worked for the Missouri Highway Department from 1964 until 1966 and was then a full-time farmer on the family farm.
He was preceded in death by parents, father, George and Gertrude; brothers, Virgil Wieberg and Arnold Wieberg; sister, Marceline Faulkner; and nephew, Chris Wieberg.
Gerard is survived by siblings, Alvina Collins of St. Peters, Fred Wieberg and wife, Phyllis of Freeburg and Felix Wieberg and wife Laura of Holts Summit; sisters-in-law, Joyce Wieberg of Wardsville and Mildred “Millie” Wieberg of Freeburg; brother-in-law, Bob Luebbert of Jefferson City; and 17 nephews and nieces.
A Rosary prayer service will be held at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, followed by a visitation from 9 until 11 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial following, all in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg, with Father William Debo officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be held in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg.
