Taming Crocker’s Lions 16-4 last Wednesday night on the road, Jessica Gibbs’ Vienna Lady Eagle softball team looked to run their season-high winning streak to 11 games Monday night in Show-Me Central Conference (SMCC) road softball action at Tuscumbia against the host Lady Lions.

Plating nine runs in the top of the first inning, Vienna gave starting pitcher Delaney Schwartze more than enough run support as they went on to post a 17-2 victory in three innings over Tuscumbia.

Sending 14 batters to the plate in the top of the first inning, Aubrey Rehmert singled, homered and scored twice while Ella Hollis also had a single and a home run.

Kenna Roberds also tripled and scored while Savannah Perkins, Makenna Lange and Addie James crossed the plate for Vienna.

Vienna added three runs to their total on one swing in the top of the second inning.

Ella Hollis cleared the bases with a double allowing Lange, James and Rehmert to score.

During Vienna’s five-run top of the third inning, Marissa Hollis, Aubrey Schwartze and Rehmert all doubled helping the visiting Lady Eagles move to 2-0 in SMCC play.

Rehmert and Ella Hollis both finished with five runs batted in (RBI) and three hits.

Marissa Hollis also added three hits and two RBIs.

Delaney Schwartze earned the complete-game win pitching all three innings allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk to go with four strikeouts.

Last Wednesday in Crocker, Vienna scored in all six innings with their big one being a five-run top of the second en route to a 16-4 victory in six innings.

Rehmert singled and scored on a passed ball in the top of the first to break the scoreless tie.

Kaylee Bresnahan ignited a two-out rally in the top of the second inning which eventually led to five runs and a 6-0 Lady Eagle lead entering the bottom of the second inning.

Crocker got three of those runs back before Vienna answered throughout the rest of the game.

Rehmert singled and scored on an error for the lone Lady Eagle run in the top of the third inning before Vienna plated four more in the top of the fourth.

Singling and scoring for the Lady Eagles in the top of the fourth were Marissa Hollis, Delaney Schwartze and Roberds.

Aubrey Schwartze also walked and scored in the top of the fourth inning for Vienna.

Plating five more runs, Vienna moved their win streak into double digits following their victory at Crocker.

Rehmert led the Lady Eagle offense with four hits and four runs scored while getting three hits each from Marissa Hollis, Delaney Schwartze and Roberds.

James earned the complete-game win pitching six innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks to go with four strikeouts.

Vienna will look to make it a dozen in a row tomorrow (Thursday) night hosting Richland’s Lady Bears for Pink Out night at Vienna City Park with a 5 p.m., first pitch.
