Georgia Lillian (Sooter) Beydler, 88, of Springfield, formerly of Dixon, passed away July 2, 2024, surrounded by family.

She was born April 17, 1936, to Dorsie Virgil and Eunice Esther (Riddle) Sooter, near Dixon.

She was united in marriage to Billy Beydler, Sept. 15, 1956 at Dixon.

Georgia was a member of Dixon First Baptist Church where she was baptized.

She was a clerk at the Pulaski County Courthouse, a real estate agent and secretary with Bassett Insurance and Realty, and a hairstylist. Her last job outside the home was with Greene County Health Department in Springfield. Georgie was talented, most notably for having a contract with Silver Dollar City for handmade dolls.

Georgia was preceded in death by parents, Dorsie and Eunice; infant sister Eunice Esther; brother Robert; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Dorothy and Joe Beydler.

She is survived by husband of 67 years, Billy; children, Van of Jefferson City, Hylan of Rolla, Bill (Nancy) of Kansas City, Scott of Thomasville, N.C., and Sammy (Rich) of Springfield; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Dean Sooter; sister, Barbara (John) Wessner; and sisters-in-law, Josephine Roberson, Virginia (Donovan) Myer, Helen Beydler, Lois (Alexander Beydler) Durham, and Sharon Sooter.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, July 6, at Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon, with Pastor Todd Holman, Cuba United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery..
