BELLE — Hints were dropped on Monday morning of a resolution between former mayor Daryl White, Jr.’s attorney Thomas J. Kirsch and the Missouri Attorney General’s Greg M. Goodwin in 25th Circuit Judge William E. Hickle’s courtroom.
White is being charged on allegations of misdemeanor stealing and official misconduct from events that happened around September 2023. The charges were filed on Dec. 19, 2023, in Maries County.
Hickle called White’s case on June 3 near the end of the docket.
“This is for a pre-trial conference,” Hickle asked Goodwin, who was present, and Kirsch, who was present during the second call via Webex.
“We haven’t had a chance to talk,” Goodwin told the judge. “It’s set for trial next month, but we are hoping for a non-trial.”
Kirsch said a non-trial option was discussed in their previous conversations, though he was, “not as optimistic as Mr. Goodwin sounds.”
The parties also discussed a supplemental disclosure. Though Goodwin filed a supplemental disclosure on Missouri Case.net that is listed in White’s file, it is not in regards to this case. The parties requested another case review hearing prior to the trial, which is currently set for a jury trial at 8:30 a.m. on July 10 in Phelps County. Hickle schedule the 10 a.m. conference on June 21 in Maries County. All parties are expected to appear via Webex.
