Going 5-2 during their first seven matches of the season on the road, Kaci Jones’ Belle Lady Tiger volleyball team looked to open the home portion of their schedule last Thursday night on a winning note in a Highway 28 showdown against Dixon’s Lady Bulldogs.
Junior-varsity action saw Belle drop the first set 26-24 before going on to take the next two sets and the match by scores of 24-26, 25-20 and 25-20.
Varsity action also lasted three sets with Belle sweeping the Lady Bulldogs by scores of 25-16, 26-24 and 25-12.
Brooklyn Maddox served up six aces for the Lady Tigers followed by five from Adalyn Walters and four aces apiece out of McKenna Loughridge and Saige Garner.
Walters led BHS with nine kills to go along with six from Lydia Jones.
Maddox dished out a team-high 11 assists to go along with five dimes from Garner.
Victoria Busch led Belle with six digs followed by four from Chloe Jones.
Last Tuesday in Cuba, Belle stayed unbeaten in Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) volleyball action sweeping the Lady Wildcats in three sets 25-23, 25-13 and 25-19.
Lydia Jones served up a team-leading seven aces while Loughridge chipped in five aces.
Chloe Jones and Loughridge each recorded seven kills while Lydia Jones and Garner each had a solo block.
Maddox dished out a team-high 12 assists against Cuba while Busch recorded nine digs.
Running their regular-season match win streak to four Monday night, Belle swept Calvary Lutheran’s Lady Lions on the road in Jefferson City by identical scores of 25-21 in all three sets.
Maddox served up five aces while Lydia Jones led the Lady Tigers with seven kills.
Garner dished out 11 assists while Maddox paced Belle with 12 digs.
Belle’s quest for a Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) title will continue tomorrow (Thursday) night when they host Cuba’s Lady Wildcats at BHS.
Action will start at 5 p.m., with the junior-varsity match.
