Lady Tiger volleyball drops home matches

Fresh off a sweep on the road last Monday night in Jefferson City against Calvary Lutheran’s Lady Lions, Kaci Jones’ Belle Lady Tiger volleyball team looked to keep their winning ways going with home matches last Tuesday and Thursday respectively against Linn and Cuba.

Already owning a win over their Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) rivals, Belle looked for another notch in the win column last Thursday night against the visiting Cuba Lady Wildcats.

Unfortunately for Belle, Cuba took both matches winning the JV contest in two sets 25-11 and 25-22 before also taking varsity action in three sets by scores of 25-14, 26-24 and 25-20.

Saige Garner served up a team-high three aces for Belle followed closely with two aces from Brooklyn Maddox.

Lydia Jones, Chloe Jones and Adalyn Walters each recorded five kills for Belle while McKenna Loughridge also added four more.

Maddox and Garner each dished out a team-high seven assists for Belle.

In digs, Maddox led the Lady Tigers with 10 followed by nine each from Garner and Loughridge.

In Highway 89 volleyball action against Linn at Belle High School, the visiting Lady Wildcats also took both matches winning the JV contest in two sets 25-18 and 25-21 along with varsity action in three sets 25-16, 25-15 and 25-16.

Lydia Jones served up a team-high seven aces for Belle against Linn while Chloe Jones led the Lady Tigers with a team-high four kills.

Loughridge and Maddox each had a block for Belle against Linn while Garner registered a team-high six assists.

Garner (26) and Maddox (17) both reached double digits in digs.

After hosting Viburnum’s Lady Blue Jays last night (Tuesday), Belle will continue their stretch of five consecutive home matches on Friday, Oct. 4 against Steelville and Tuesday, Oct. 8 against Bourbon.

Both matches will start at 5 p.m., with Bourbon also serving as senior night.
