DIXON — Falling 4-0 last Tuesday on the road at St. James, Meagan Fisher’s Belle Lady Tiger soccer team continued their search for the win column last week west on Highway 28 at the Dixon Girls Soccer Tournament.

Starting the tournament last Wednesday against the host Lady Bulldogs, Belle dropped a 6-0 decision to Dixon.

Day two of the tournament saw the Lady Tigers take on the other Highway 28 team in the tournament in Owensville’s Dutchgirls.

Stopping three shots by Owensville in the first seven minutes of the match, Alleigh Woolley helped keep the match scoreless until Owensville scored two goals in a six-minute span for a 2-0 lead at the 25:07 mark of the first half.

After allowing another Dutchgirl goal with 11:07 until halftime, Wooley made three more saves keeping Belle within striking distance at halftime trailing their Highway 28 neighbors to the east 3-0.

Hanna Crews took over in goal in the second half stopping 11 of the 15 shots she faced for the Lady Tigers.

Falling 7-0 to the Dutchgirls, Belle had Dixon tournament matches remaining against Crocker and Laquey.

Taking on the Crocker’s Lady Lions Friday at Dixon, Belle took an 8-0 loss to the eventual tournament champions.

Capping the tournament early Saturday due to prom later that day, the Lady Tigers looked to sting Laquey’s Lady Hornets.

Also falling 8-0 in that match, Belle ended the tournament with a loss to the eventual champions.

Field conditions permitting, Belle is scheduled to host Smithton’s Lady Tigers at 5 p.m., at the Belle-Bland Soccer Complex.
