Goldeen Mildred Blankenship, 88, of Bland, passed away Oct. 10, 2024 in the hospital surrounded by all of her loved ones.

She was born Nov. 13 1935, to Clifford and Mildred Pointer.

Goldeen went on to marry her best friend Edgar Blankenship, June 2, 1956, at St. Alexander’s Catholic Church in Belle. They were happily married for 68 wonderful years. She and Edgar had many great memories together and in those memories were their three daughters Jackie Smith (Tom), Sandy Hale (Aleta DuBose) and Theresa Blankenship (Dave). Their blessings were continued with six grandchildren, Tina Smith (Les Nivens), Thomas Smith (Jenny), Clinton Hale (Stephanie), Cassie Galbreath (Jordan), Patrick Cox, Justin Cox and nine great-grandchildren, Ashton Smith, Alicia Smith, Sydney Smith, Isabella Smith, Alyssa Door, Lacey Nivens, Samantha Nivens, Remi Branson, Isaiah Galbreath and many more nieces and nephews.

During the early years, Goldeen and Edgar loved to camp and travel with their daughters. They also had multiple old cars that they took to car shows. As the years went on, they enjoyed quality time with their growing family fishing and feeding the fish in their two ponds by their house. They also loved scratching tickets each day and at least once a month would take a trip to the boat in Boonville. She was a faithful and active member of the St. Alexander Catholic Church for 69 years and she never missed a Sunday.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; siblings, Rockie, Joann and Shirley; and daughter in-law, Aleta Dubose.

Funeral services for Goldeen were held Monday, Oct. 14, at St. Alexander Catholic Church.

Please send sympathies in the form of donations to the St. Alexander Catholic Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle.
