David Martin’s Vienna varsity cross country Eagles have picked the right time to be on a roll.

During the past two Mondays, the Eagles have racked up team titles from the Dixon Invitational last Monday and on their home course during the Vienna Eagle Autumn Classic Monday night.

Prior to the high school Eagles running the course, Vienna’s Middle School Eagles and Lady Eagles ended their season at Dixon.

Bryce Ewers led the VMS Eagles with a third-place time of 11:38.75.

Other Eagle medalists in the top 20 at Dixon included Tyler Hallahan (11th, 12:34.61), Eli Messersmith (12th, 12:40.04) and Dalton Timm (15th, 12:48.23).

Additional VMS runners helping the Eagles (54) place second as a team to Licking (37) were Alex Wieberg (23rd, 13:21.75), Gage Curler (25th, 13:32.98), Zach Wansing (26th, 13:33.65), Tanner Hallahan (30th, 13:55.67), Ben Murray (33rd, 14:39.71) and Drew Crum (36th, 14:56.88).

During the middle school race, VMS’ Lady Eagles saw two runners earn medals in Sophia Neubert (6th, 12:04.84) and Zoe Hawk (19th, 13:32.80).

Riley McKinnon also placed 25th in 15:22.39 for the Lady Eagles.

Kaylee Bresnahan led the Lady Eagles in the varsity girls race with a 14th-place time of 28:27.96 followed by junior Ava Kloeppel with a 24th-place time of 34:34.93.

Seeing six runners earn medals with top-20 finishes, Vienna’s varsity Eagles topped the team standings with 38 points ahead of Camdenton (59), Stoutland (76), Licking (90) and Calvary Lutheran (95).

Cooper Auten led the charge for the Eagles with a third-place time of 18:21.79 followed in the top 10 by Brayden Ewers’ sixth-place time of 18:33.15.

Also earning medals for the Vienna at Dixon in the varsity boys race were Duncan Wilkinson (13th, 19:34.68), Hunter Schwartze (14th, 19:47.91), Jackson Kilmer (18th, 20:18.13) and Gavin Schwartze (20th, 20:45.78).

Monday night on their home course in the Vienna Autumn Classic, the Eagles added more hardware to their trophy case winning a team title in the varsity boys division.

Led by Wilkinson who won the race, other medalists on their home course Monday night include Auten (3rd), Brayden Ewers (5th) and Hunter Schwartze (7th).
