Big NO on Amendment 6 and here’s why: Amendment 6 sounds like it’s a voice for the people and I am always for our voice being heard. However, our state is wide open to Big Money influencing that voice, and not always being honest about it. Our initiative petition, IP, which allows the public to gather signatures to put something on the ballot to amend our constitution, has no safeguards. What we have seen in the last several years is big money coming in from out of state to influence that. Then big money puts on commercials that aren’t completely honest, sway voters without giving the voter all the information they need. Amendment 6 would seal those flawed initiative petitions into our constitution. Until initiative petition is protected from outside influences, I cannot vote for something like this. They could influence our gun rights, our homeschooling rights, and much more. NO on Amendment 6.
