VIENNA — The Vienna Chamber of Commerce presented the Emerging Business Award to Westside 42 Grill during a surprise Thursday afternoon visit.
Founded in March 2025, the restaurant is an American restaurant, serving a variety of food, including burgers, sandwiches, breakfast and more.
The award is selected to one business per year that is under five years old. After all the businesses are nominated, the chamber members vote on who to select. The chamber’s goal is to support businesses in Vienna and encourage economic development.
Because the business could not attend the annual awards banquet, Preston Hodapp, the chamber board president, presented the plaque to owner Cody Windle at the business site on Highway 42. The business also received a $100 Visa gift card.
“The community is pretty great. We try to support the community as much as we can, and they support us. That way we can do stuff in the community,” Windle said.
Hannah Shanks, vice president of the chamber, believes that this award is important because it recognizes the recipient’s hard work to serve the community and its economy.
“It’s really great to see the people that are from this area coming back and opening businesses so that our community has places to go and have places to have a restaurant at,” she said.
