We are all proud to be an American. There are special days that we honor and recognize our veterans. There are those who have served and those who made it a career. There are Prisoners of War (POW), the Missing in Action (MIA) and Killed in Action (KIA) who gave their all.
We need to remember these names and if not specifically, remember them silently in our hearts.
In September, there are important dates remembering our veterans:
September 11 - Patriot Day
September 18 - Birthday of the United States Air Force
The third Friday is POW/MIA recognition day.
Every 22nd of the month, wear blue to bring awareness to the issues of veterans.
The last Sunday in September is Gold Star Mother and Family Day.
October is the birthday of the U.S. Navy.
