Wanda Maye Carter Webb, 90, passed away May 8, 2021 in Gulfport, Miss.

She was born Nov. 2, 1930 to Jesse Hugh Carter and Hazel W. Orr (Carter) Jones in Quitaque, Texas.

She was a native of Lockney, Texas, but moved frequently and lived for extended periods in Vichy, St. James, and Vicksburg, Miss. She was a resident of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport.

She was preceded in death by parents Jesse and Hazel and step-father, Frank G. Jones; and step-sister, Flora Lee Jack.

She is survived by, husband, Obil Webb; son, Dennis Webb and wife Anita of Vicksburg, MS; sisters, Lynna Davis and husband Thurman of Orlando, Fla, Laveta Morren of Floydada, Texas, Othelia Bass and husband Otis of Amarillo, Texas; step-brother, F.G. Jones and wife Pat of Plainview, Texas; one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren, all of Vicksburg, Miss.

Wanda graduated from Lockney High School in 1948, and Rolla, Mo. VoTech as a dental assistant. She served two years in the U.S. Navy, and received an honorable discharge. She worked many years as a telephone operator and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church,

A private service for immediate family will be held at a later date.Memorials suggested to Salvation Army, Christmas Angel program and Toys-For-Tots, or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Armed Forces Retirement Home.
