A pair of wins on senior night.

That is what Vienna’s Lady Eagles and Eagles were after Friday night hosting Viburnum in Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) basketball action.

Taking a 28-25 lead into the fourth quarter, Kevin Schwartze’s Lady Eagles were outscored 16-13 in the final eight minutes before ending up on the wrong side of a 41-40 final score.

Aubrey Reeves and Brooke Mercer shared team-high scoring honors finishing with 10 points apiece for Vienna.

Mercer also grabbed seven rebounds.

Aubrey Schwartze narrowly missed a double double finishing with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Looking to pick up their Lady Eagle counterparts, Chandler Harker’s Eagles took on the visiting Blue Jays.

Jumping out to a 37-11 halftime lead, Vienna gained a split of their senior-night twin bill winning the boys game 69-27.

Cash Stricklan led three Eagles in double figures with a game-high 20 points.

Duncan Wilkinson (13) and Alex Zimmer (11) also reached double digits in scoring for Vienna.

Vienna’s Lady Eagles also scored a pair of home wins earlier in the week defeating Calvary Lutheran 57-50 on Tuesday in addition to edging New Bloomfield 50-47 on Monday.

Schwartze led the Lady Eagles with 19 points against the Lady Lions and 17 markers against the Lady Wildcats.
