VIENNA — Vienna High School student Kaylee Bresnahan will participate in the 2026 summer internship for the NASA STEM Enhancement in Earth and Space Science (SEES) at the University of Texas, Austin Center for Space Research.
The goal of SEES is helping high schoolers learn about careers in field of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) by giving them hands-on experience with NASA methods, equipment and staff.
As part of this internship, Bresnahan will be studying data from the International Space Station, observing satellites, designing habitats on the moon and Mars and learning about the effects of microgravity.
Bresnahan will be one of the 118 interns, chosen from over 3,000 applicants. The first part of the internship will be remote, completing space and science and coding courses and working with a project scientist. The second part, beginning July 5, in Austin, Texas, will include hands-on field research and connecting with other students.
