VHS FFA Chapter revisits busy November, December activities

VIENNA — Vienna Future Farmers of America  (FFA) on Nov. 12 scheduled a 7 a.m. officers meeting to plan the regular meeting.

For the regular meeting, they planned a community service, watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and ate popcorn. The group adopted the Maries County R-1 Families in Need again this year and provided them a little fun and games under the tree as their community service. Officers thanked everyone who picked up a giving tree ornament.

Grace Veasman and Larissa Rollins competed Nov. 13 in the District Fall Public Speaking event. Veasman took first and now will be competing at State.

Vet Science and Landscaping on Nov. 19 went to tour Mizzou to learn about their plant science and animal science programs, and what they offer. The group also met up with some former FFA members and talked to them about their experiences at Mizzou.

Labor Auction and Scholarship Committee had a meeting on Nov. 24 and planned things for the labor auction during FFA week.

Jumping into December, the FFA Fruit, Meat, Cookie Dough Fundraisers were delivered in the first week of the month.

There as an FFA Christmas Party Committee Meeting on Dec. 1.

The FFA Week Assembly committee meeting was Dec. 3, where the club planned out and got everything ready for the FFA assembly during FFA week.

On Dec. 5, the club planned and discussed a supporters Fish fry for FFA week, and the Giving Tree items were due back to the Ag room.

An FFA week committee meeting was scheduled on Dec. 10 to plan out the dress up days for FFA week and organize it. The Washington Leadership Conference applications were also due.

Washington Leadership Interviews were Dec. 16 and officers wished success to all applicants.

The club’s monthly chapter meeting and Christmas party was Dec. 17, and officers met together and planned the meeting.

Friday, Dec. 19 was the last day of school before Christmas break.
