Ruth Sophie Rohlfing, 96, of St. Louis, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 9, 1927, to August and Myrtle (Blaue) Jaeger in Gerald.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Albert Rohlfing, Nov. 4, 1950, in Washington.
Ruth enjoyed cooking, piecing quilts, and embroidery, especially baby quilts. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ of Cooper Hill.
She was preceded in death by parents, August and Myrtle; husband, Lloyd; son, Mark Rohlfing; brother, Ben Jaeger; and sister, Esther Fleer.
She is survived by daughter, Shirley Coleman and husband Myron of St. Louis; daughter-in-law, Laurie Rohlfing of Ankeny, Iowa; and grandchildren, Kimberly and Thomas Rohlfing.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 1, from 4–8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s UCC in Cooper Hill with Rev. Van Lahmeyer officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Stone Church Cemetery outside of Gerald.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s UCC or Ebenezer Stone Church Cemetery.
