Norma Jean (James) Feeler was born Sept. 18, 1928, and died Feb. 23, 2022, at Presbyterian Manor in Rolla. She had reached the age of 73 years 5 months and 5 days.
She was the only child of John Willard James and Myrtle Helen (Murphy) James.
She was married to Calvin Jackson (Jack) Feeler, Nov. 9, 1945. They were the parents of two daughters, Sandra Jean, Aug. 3, 1947, and Jerrilyn, March 22, 1950. Sandra Jean was married to Kenneth A. Hollis. They had one daughter, Andrea Jean, March 14, 1967. Jerrilyn was married to Dennis R. Snodgrass, Aug. 22, 1970. They had one daughter Greta Layne, March 4, 1985.
Norma was a member of the United Methodist Church, Vienna. She worked at various jobs in Rolla for 30 years. In retirement, she did some charitable work for Fishes and Loaves Food Bank, Vienna. Being an only child, she treasured the closeness she had with families of her father, mother, and husband. She was also a sports enthusiast.
She was preceded in death by father John James (Nov. 1994); mother Myrtle (Aug. 1970); husband Jack (Jan. 2017); daughter Sandra (June 2013); son-in-law Kenneth (Aug. 2021); daughter Jerrilyn (June 2019); granddaughter Andrea (Hollis) Sharp (April 2021); and paternal grandparents Dave and Belle and maternal grandparents Rowe and Effie.
She is survived by son-in-law Dennis R. Snodgrass of Vichy; granddaughter Greta Layne Snodgrass of Couer d’Alene, Idaho; and many other relatives and friends she gained along the way.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Vienna. No visitation will be held prior to the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the James Community Cemetery Fund or the Vienna United Methodist Church. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the James Community Cemetery.
