Marvin “Jack” Smoot, 89, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022.
He was born July 27, 1932, to Allen and Ellen (Wright) Smoot in Rover.
He was united in marriage to Anna LaWanda Huddleston, August 1953.
Jack served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in Physical Education. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, had a coaching career and lastly as an agent for State Farm Insurance Company.
He is preceded in death by parents Allen and Ellen; wife LaWanda; and twin brother Gene Smoot.
He is survived by daughter Patti Smoot of Chesterfield; son Bill Smoot and wife Brenda of St. James; sister Sue Johnson and husband Jim of Fort Smith Ark.
Graveside services were held Friday, June 3, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Pomono, officiated by sister Sue Johnson.
