Lucille Mary Libbert, 88, Laurie, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at The Neighborhoods by Tiger Place in Columbia.
She was born Sept. 29, 1932, to Henry Vincent and Elizabeth Mary (Redel) Deeken, at Argyle.
She was united in marriage to Arthur John Libbert, May 9, 1951, at Meta.
Lucille worked as a cake decorator at Mallory’s Bakery for 15 years. She was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Mary’s Garden Club and a charter member of the Draggin Thread Quilters Club, all in Laurie.
She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Elizabeth; husband, Arthur; sisters, Leona Busche and Frances Falter; brothers, John Deeken, Clemens “Pat” Deeken, Charles Deeken, Henry Deeken Jr. and infants, Anthony and Joseph Deeken.
She is survived by children, Evelyn E. Jorgenson and husband Chuck of Rogers, Ark., Ruth Palasi’ and husband Jose of Meta, Roger Libbert and wife Colleen of Sedalia and Dale Libbert of Versailles; brothers, Harold Deeken and wife Joan of Meta and David Deeken of Jefferson City; and four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Dec. 11, in St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Rev. Leonard Mukiibi as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta. Memorial contributions suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
