Larry Paul Uhles, 80, of Florissant, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at his residence.
He was born April 7, 1943, to William Paul and Virginia Jane (Shaw) Uhles in Benton, Ill.
He was united in marriage to Judith Carol Menke, July 18, 1997, in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Larry grew up Protestant, however he attended St. Norbert’s Catholic Church, in Florissant, with his wife for their married life. He enjoyed popping kettle corn at various festivals and family functions for his small business, The Kettle Korn Co. for 32 years. Larry started his working career in 1962, at the age of 18, with Skinner and Kennedy Printing, in Berkley, as a machinist, and in January of 2022 retired after 60 years.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Virgina; brother, Keith Uhles; step-son-in-law, Greg Cash; and step-great-grandson, Anthony Cash.
He is survived by wife, Judith of their home in Florissant; children, James Uhles and wife Julie of Caseyville, Ill., Kimberly Uhles of Worden, Ill., and Deann Douglas and husband Mike of Lake Timberline; step-children, Kimberly Ann Vandermaden and husband Les, Kathleen Cash, and Elizabeth McFadden and husband Jeremy all of Florissant; brother, Dennis Uhles and wife Barb of Ava; sisters, Janet Hoge and husband Danny of St. Jacobs, Ill., Jo Ellen Bayer and husband Dave of the state of Indiana, and Jane Lantrip and husband Mike of Bonne Terre; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday (today), Nov. 22, 2023, from 3–6 p.m., at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home, 314 West Main Street, Collinsville, Ill., under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
