Lady Tigers to host annual volleyball tournament Saturday

Falling to Steelville Friday night at home in two sets, Belle volleyball will look to snap a long losing streak during the annual 2018 Belle Lady Tiger Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Split into two pools of four teams, tournament action will begin bright and early Saturday at 8 a.m., at Belle High School and Bland Middle School.

In Maries County at Belle High School, the host Lady Tigers, Centralia’s Lady Panthers, Eugene’s Lady Eagles and Bourbon’s Lady Warhawks will make the up Red pool.

Over in Gasconade County at Bland Middle School, Dixon’s Lady Bulldogs, North Callaway’s Lady Thunderbirds, Linn’s Lady Wildcats and Russellville’s Lady Indians will be in the black pool.

Belle and Centralia will kick off red pool action at BHS in the 8 a.m., match. Eugene and Bourbon will face each other in their first pool match at 9 a.m.

Centralia and Eugene will square off at 10 a.m., with Belle and Bourbon facing off in a showdown of Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) squads at 11 a.m.

In that 11 a.m., match, Belle will be looking to avenge a loss on the road in Bourbon to the Lady Warhawks last night (Tuesday).

Kicking off the afternoon portion of red pool volleyball at noon will be Centralia and Bourbon. Belle and Eugene will cap pool play at BHS at 1 p.m.

Belle’s final match in pool play will also be a chance to avenge in earlier two-set loss to Eugene back in their season opener in late August.

Black pool play in Bland will also begin at 8 a.m., with Dixon taking on North Callaway.

Linn and Russellville will face off at 9 a.m., in a match up of Show-Me Conference foes.

Dixon will play their second pool match of the day against Linn at 10 a.m. followed by North Callaway and Russellville at 11 a.m.

Starting afternoon action in Bland at noon will be Dixon and Russellville followed at 1 p.m., by North Callaway and Linn to conclude black pool play.

At 2 p.m., in Belle, the third-place teams from each pool will square off in the consolation championship match followed at 3 p.m., by both second-place pool teams in the third-place match.

A long day of volleyball will conclude at approximately 4 p.m., with the championship match pitting the top teams in each pool against each other.
