HERMANN — No matter what sport it is, it is difficult to beat a team three times, let alone four.
Kaci Jones’ Belle Lady Tigers found that out the hard way last Tuesday night during the opening round of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 2, District 6 Volleyball Tournament at Hermann High School.
Defeating Bourbon twice in regular-season play and during the Belle Tournament, the Lady Tigers earned the fourth-seed over the fifth-seed Lady Warhawks.
Unable to overcome numerous service and unforced errors, Belle saw their season end at 13-10-1 following a loss in three sets to Bourbon by scores of 25-18, 26-24 and 25-19.
Saige Garner led the Lady Tigers with four aces followed closely with three from Adalyn Walters, two from Chloe Jones and one out of Kennady Kinkead.
Lydia Jones recorded a team-high 13 kills to go along with five from Walters and four kills each from Hadassah Carman and Chloe Jones.
Adding to her 13 kills, Lydia Jones recorded the lone block of the match for the Lady Tigers.
Zoe Camden dished out a team-high 12 assists while Garner also reached double digits in assists with 11.
Camden and Lydia Jones also led Belle with 11 digs apiece.
Garner nearly made it three double-digit diggers for the Lady Tigers with nine.
Ending their season as tri-Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) Champions along with Steelville and Cuba, Belle will await the announcing of postseason honors at the conference and district level in early November.
