Joan M. (Wright) Damm, 76, Cuba and Bland, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence, May 9, 2021.

She was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Rushville Ind., to James M. Wright and Virginia H. (Baumgartner) Wright of Fort Wayne, Ind.

She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Damm, March 17, 1976, in Miami, Okla. They were married for 37 years.

The couple moved to Cuba in 1980. They owned and operated a furniture refinishing store. Joan later worked for Wallis Oil their bakery in Cuba, at the four-way stop. Joan volunteered for over 16 years at the Cuba food pantry. She enjoyed going to church and helping others in need.

She is preceded in death by husband, Bob; parents, James and Virginia; brothers, Harry Wright and Roy R. Wright, step-daughter, Dorian (Damm) Edmisson; and grandmother, Susie (Baumgartner) Gebhart.

She is survived by children, Angie Vaughan and husband Evan of Bland, Michael McQueen and friend, Cheryl Harris of Cuba and Angela (Wells) Vick of Mounds, Okla.; stepchildren, William “Bill” Damm and Christopher Damm, both of Buffalo; grandchildren, Susan (Downing) Lewis of Rich Fountain, Rachel Casey of Salem and Jennifer Rubey and Justin Paul Vick, both of Mounds, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Makenize Hankins of Bland, Benjamin Powers of Pacific and Natalie Hanson of Mounds, Okla.; brothers, James M. Wright II and his wife Linda of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Alan Wright and wife Linda of Mooresville, Ind.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends and friends.

Expression of sympathy may be made to the College Hill Cemetery.
