Jerry Ray Brumback, 78, of New Bloomfield, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023 at the Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

He was born Oct. 4, 1945, a son of the late Lee R. and Lorene Frances (Atkins) Brumback in Macon.

He was united in marriage May 23, 1997, in Rolla, to Cynthia Cox, who preceded him in death May 7, 2016.

Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War obtaining rank as a Specialist 4. He was number 50 on the Missouri Honor Flight, a trip he treasured and thoroughly enjoyed.

After retirement he volunteered at the Salvation Army and the food bank. Jerry enjoyed going to races, tractor pulls, his guns and loved his truck. Going out to eat with his family was one of his favorite things to do, but most of all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Lorene; and wife, Cynthia.

Jerry is survived by children, Jeff Brumback (Kristina) of New Bloomfield, Brandy Friend (Travis) of Linn, and Blake Brumback of Jefferson City; siblings, Donna Wells (Jim) of Macon, Ann Wells (Roy) of Bevier and Mike, Spencer, Floyd, Vicky and Judy; grandchildren, Hannah Burch, Shelby Brumback, Evan Brumback, Tiauna Friend, Gavin Brumback, Kya Brumback, and Wade Brumback; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Burch and Zayden Burch; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held Friday, Dec 1, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, Holts Summit, with Pastor Thomas Mustain officiating. Interment was in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
