Highway 89 bridge over the Gasconade River opened on Friday to one lane of traffic with automated signals guiding motorists across. Monday contractors were working to clean up the last mess created during the construction. A few more things such as painting and sandblasting need to be completed before the bridge can be fully opened. At the beginning of the month, a MoDOT spokesman said the bridge is expected to be fully opened by Aug. 31.
