BELLE — The Heartland Regional Library is keeping things lively in October with a wide range of programs for all ages at its Belle and Vienna branches. From crafting and cooking to book clubs and technology workshops, the month is packed with opportunities for learning, fun and community connection.
In Belle, the month begins with some friendly competition as the library hosts a puzzle challenge at 5 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the branch. The next day, patrons can stop by for a technology help session at 2 p.m. on Oct. 3, where staff will answer questions on topics like setting up an email account or creating a spreadsheet. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own requests so the session can be tailored to their needs.
Just a few days later, the branch invites families to gather for storytime at 10 a.m. on Oct. 7, and adults to roll up their sleeves for crafting at 2 p.m. that same afternoon. Mid-month, readers can connect at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 over shared stories during the Belle Adult Book Club.
Toward the end of the month, the library is helping patrons brush up on their digital skills at 6 p.m. on Oct. 23 with Chromebooks 101, a beginner-friendly class. Wrapping up the month, youth get a chance to experiment in the kitchen with the Tween/Teen Kitchen Club at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, a program designed to spark creativity in young cooks.
Vienna’s branch also boasts a busy schedule, starting with adult crafting at 10 a.m. on Oct. 15 at the library, followed by an afternoon of storytime at 1 p.m. on the same date. The following week, the focus turns to teens with a Tween/Teen Kitchen Club at 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the community room, while the spirit of friendly rivalry takes over with a puzzle competition at 5 p.m. later that evening.
These programs are part of the library’s ongoing effort to offer engaging, hands-on experiences to the community. Whether it’s providing creative outlets, fostering literacy or helping residents keep up with technology, the Belle and Vienna branches are making sure there’s something for everyone this fall.
