Genevieve Cox, 86, Belle passed away peacefully, Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at the home of her long time friend and care taker, Terry Seymour along with Robin Phillips at her side.

She was born July 24, 1935, in Belle, a daughter to the late Moses and Ruth (Basham) Cox. She was one of eight children born to this union.

She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.

Genevieve was a caring person who liked to take care of others. She did Meals On Wheels when she was still able to drive. Her faith in God was strong and she loved to attend church services. Genevieve was very musically talented and played both the fiddle and the guitar. She enjoyed quilting, going out to eat and watching western movies and shows on TV. Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and John Wayne were her favorites. Genevieve had a horse she loved very much named Trixi, but her greatest love was spending time with family. She will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.

Genevieve is survived by sister Susie Hall of Milford, Pa.; longtime friends Robin Phillips and husband Garry of Belle, and Terry Seymour and husband Oral of Belle; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents Moses and Ruth; siblings Rafe Cox, Paul Cox, Wayne Cox, Arthur Cox, Loretta Barricks, and Delmar Cox.

Visitation for Genevieve will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, from 1–3 p.m. at the Liberty Church of Christ, Belle, with funeral services following with Randy Carr officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Liberty Cemetery Fund.
