Frederick Donley Veasman, of Brinktown, was born on June 18, 1930 in Brinktown, a son of George Frederick “Fred” and Elizabeth Antionette (Wenzel) Veasman, and departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2024, at his residence. He had attained the age of 93 years.

Donley was united in marriage on Oct. 27, 1962, to the former Miss Charlotte Ann Combs, and to this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred, on Jan. 5, 1977; his mother, Elizabeth on June 21, 2000; brothers, Albin Veasman on Feb. 9, 2006, John Vernon Veasman on April 21, 2013, Claude Arthur Veasman on March 12, 2015, and sister, Jane Rowden on July 13, 2008.

Donley loved working outdoors, was a lifelong farmer and was an excellent gardener.   He was a member of the Santee Community Church and a deacon in the Mason Ridge Community Church. He valued time reading, studying scriptures and sharing his faith.  In the years of 1952 and 1953 he served in the Korean War. Donley worked for Howard Ready Mix for 33 years as a cement truck driver and at the Chevrolet Corvette plant for 10 years and was promoted to foreman.  He was an officer for Brinktown Farmers Insurance.

Those left to mourn the passing of Donley include: his beloved wife of 61 years, Charlotte Veasman, Brinktown; son Bill Veasman of Brinktown; daughters, Donna Ludwig and husband Rick of Columbia, Debbie Kern of Jefferson City, Tina Jordan and husband AJ of Brinktown; sister Agnes Wilson of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Elisa Kern, Abbi Kern, Nicolos and wife Frida Jordan, Christi Kern, Annalise Jordan, and Anthony Jordan. 

A funeral service for F. Donley Veasman was held at the Santee Community Church in Dixon with interment in the Williams Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to New Life Evangelistic Center or World Challenge.
