VIENNA — The Fly Creek Bridge replacement project on County Road 213 is moving forward as officials approved a request for bids, according to Western District Commissioner Patrick Kleffner during the April 30 commission meeting. The next step is for MECO Engineering to advertise the request in the newspaper for three weeks.
The Fly Creek Bridge, which is separate from the bridge currently being repaired on Highway 42, is where the paved segment of the road meets the gravel segment. The paved segment is called Ballpark Road.
The county has been working on this project with MECO and the Missouri Department of Transportation. MECO designs the bridge and conducts any necessary surveys, but another company will build the project.
The county acquired small amounts of the adjacent property necessary for the bridge replacement. County Clerk Rhonda Rodgers said during the April 13 meeting that the deeds were improperly altered with handwritten notes, but Kleffner said on April 20 that the deeds were corrected and recorded again.
