Erwin Wesley Cox was born Jan. 29, 1966, and passed away at his home on Jan. 8, 2022, at the age of 55. He had battled serious health issues for the last 6 years.
He was united in marriage to Laura Cox on May 24, 2008. Erwin ran his own small business for 25 years doing various jobs. He enjoyed cutting grass and wood, being in the great outdoors and spending time at the river with his sister, Monica. Erwin liked building derby cars and going to deer and turkey camp. He especially loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Alice Cox; two brothers John and Lydon Cox; and one nephew Travis Cox.
He leaves behind his wife, Laura who resides at the home; two daughters Tasha Marsee and husband Scott of Belle, and Tiffany Vandegriffe and husband Jeremy of Belle; one son Trenton Kinsey and wife Samantha of Belle; one step-daughter Rachael Haas and husband Brent of Jefferson City; one step-son Travis Beal of St. Charles; three sisters Monica Valley and husband Charlie of Belle, Vicky Caswell of Michigan, and Bev Murphy of Jefferson City; two brothers Ronnie Cox and wife Kathy of Belle, and Wesley Cox and wife Tina of Belle; and 10 grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation for Erwin will be on Friday, Jan. 14, from 1–3 p.m. at the Liberty Church of Christ, Belle. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
