Edwin Gerald Salvino, 88, of Dixon, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Ft. Leonard Wood.
He was born Nov. 17, 1935, to Eddie and Dorothy (Hansen) Salvino in Seattle, Wash.
Ed was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, having served his country from May 28, 1958, until his honorable discharge on Sept. 19, 1962, and attaining the rank of Corporal. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement and at the time of his passing he had been working in the tool department at Lowes in St. Robert for the past 13 years.
Ed was preceded in death by companion of over 23 years, Prentice Holder; and parents, Eddie and Dorothy.
In following Ed’s wishes, he was cremated under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Interment will be at a later date and time in the Gasconade Cemetery near Dixon.
