VIENNA — Blessed Beginnings Daycare Center operated by Emily Wansing is expected to open in early February, pending final inspections.
For families in Vienna, the absence of a local daycare has been more than a minor inconvenience. With no operating childcare facility within city limits, parents have been forced to make difficult choices, including commute to other towns, rearrange work schedules or find temporary solutions to stay employed.
Wansing said the projected opening date is Feb. 2, or during the first week of February if inspections are completed on schedule.
The daycare will be located at 206 Fourth Street, next to The Blessed Bean, placing it in a central and accessible location for families living and working in Vienna.
Wansing said the idea to open a daycare in town came from personal experience as well as a growing awareness of the community’s needs.
“I’ve had a daycare before, but it wasn’t in a convenient location,” Wansing said. “I wanted to open one up in Vienna to make it a convenient location for my family and others.”
She said the decision was also about investing in the town itself.
“I’m looking to grow Vienna,” Wansing said.
The daycare will be licensed to provide for up to 10 children, according to Wansing. Even before opening, demand has been immediate. Wansing said she already has a waiting list of five children, with families reaching out through phone calls and Facebook messages to ask about availability.
The daycare received its business license for 2026 during the first week of January. The final step before opening is the completion of required inspections, which will determine the exact start date.
Families interested in enrollment or additional information can contact Wansing directly by phone or through Facebook.
The timing of the opening is especially significant given recent changes in local childcare availability around the area. According to Wansing, Kitty T’s daycare in Meta, which previously served Vienna families, is currently for sale. Wansing said she hopes a buyer will continue operating the facility, though no future plans have been announced.
Currently, Wansing’s daycare is expected to be the only licensed operating childcare option within the city, according to County Assesor Dana Simmons. This is not to be confused with in-home daycare housing operations that are not certified.
