BLAND — Ned Steiner was sworn in as a new alderman for the city of Bland during the Nov. 9 meeting, replacing former alderman Sherry Spradling, who resigned on Oct. 21.
Spradling announced last month that she needed to resign due to health reasons.
“It is with regret that I inform you of my decision to resign my position as an alderman for the city of Bland, effective immediately due to health reasons. It has been a pleasure serving on the board of aldermen with the city of Bland. If I can be of any assistance to the board during the time it will take to fill my position, please do not hesitate to ask.”
Spradling signed the resignation letter on Nov. 5.
Bland Mayor Lee Medlock appointed Steiner and Clerk Carrie Krupp swore him in prior to beginning Monday night’s agenda. Steiner hit the ground running, voicing opinions and showing his knowledge of city activities.
“This is part of the reason I wanted to serve on this board,” Steiner said at one point while discussing city business.
