Bernard F. Falter, 79, of Argyle, was born May 6,1944, in Maries County, a son of Henry and Mary Johanna (Bax) Falter and passed from this life Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, surrounded by his family.

He was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, and a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 2047, Argyle, for over 55 years. He worked for Quaker Window Products, Freeburg, retiring after 40 years of service. Bernard enjoyed hunting, fishing, bar-b-queuing, watching western shows, and gardening, but most of all he enjoyed watching and feeding wildlife around his home.

He was preceded in death by father, Henry Feb. 25, 1993; mother, Mary Oct. 11, 1970; brother, Clarence Falter and Clarence’s wife, Frances Falter; brothers-in-law, Albert Wieberg, Ildephonse Wieberg, Sylvester Steinman, Edmund Wieberg and Urban Wieberg; and niece, Irene Rackers; and great-niece, Rachel Juergens.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Falter include sisters, Mary Wieberg of Holts Summit, Pauline Wieberg, Josephine Steinman, Bernadine Wieberg and Frances Wieberg, all of Argyle; numerous nephews, nieces as well as great and great-great nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, March 21, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, One Church Lane, Argyle, with Rev. Basil Tigga and Rev. James Finder celebrating and Deacon Michael Brooks assisting.

Interment was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. A luncheon immediately followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Argyle.

Memorial contributions are suggested for masses or in memory of Bernard Falter to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
