BELLE — Traffic stops made up the largest share of police activity in March, according to a report presented to the Belle Board of Aldermen during its April 14 meeting.
City Marshal Jerry Coborn delivered the monthly breakdown, saying officers conducted 56 traffic stops over the course of the month, far exceeding any other category.
Other noted activity included six follow-ups and six phone messages, along with five calls for police service and five instances assisting citizens. Officers also assisted motorists four times and conducted three wellbeing checks, three security checks and three informational calls.
Other calls included two disturbances and two 911 open line calls. Single-incident categories included breathing problems, a sick person, an alarm, a juvenile complaint, chest pain, a pursuit, keeping the peace, a mental health call and a foot patrol.
Animal control accounted for three calls during the month.
In total, the department also issued 10 citations, according to the report.
