Belle Municipal Court reports 10 case dispositions

BELLE — The Belle Municipal Court reported 10 case dispositions and collected more than $5,800 in fines, fees and surcharges during the reporting period of May 8 through June 8, according to the Municipal Division Summary Reporting Form.

Court Clerk Lydia Devine submitted the report on June 9 to the mayor and board of aldermen. The document outlined that the recording period began with 153 pending cases, including 103 traffic cases and 50 non-traffic ordinance cases. During the month, seven additional traffic cases were filed.

A total of 10 cases were disposed of during the reporting period. Of those, three cases were resolved through guilty pleas entered in court, including one traffic case and two non-traffic ordinance cases. Seven traffic cases were resolved through violations bureau citations and bond forfeitures.

At the close of the reporting period, the court reported 150 pending cases, including 102 other traffic and 48 non-traffic ordinance cases.

Warrant activity included one warrant issued and one warrant served or withdrawn during the reporting period, with 53 outstanding warrants at the end of the month.

Financially, the court reported $4,038.74 in revenue from minor traffic and municipal ordinance violations. This total included $3,663 in fines, $267.49 in clerk fees, $8.25 in Crime Victims Compensation Fund surcharges paid to the city and $100 in bond forfeitures.

The court also reported $1,597.72 in other income not subject to excess revenue limitations. This included $1,180.50 in fines, $48 in clerk fees, $26.28 in Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission surcharges, $187.46 in Crime Victims Compensation Fund surcharges paid to the state, $1.48 in Crime Victims Compensation Fund surcharges paid to the city and $54 in Law Enforcement Training Fund surcharges. An additional $100 was collected through bond forfeitures.

Other disbursements totaled $184.04 for court automation costs.

Overall, the court reported $5,820.50 in disbursements for costs, fees, surcharges and bonds forfeited. After accounting for $100 in bond refunds, total disbursements for the reporting period were $5,920.50.

No parking tickets were issued. The court reported no alcohol or drug related traffic cases pending, filed or disposed of during the month. No jury trials, bench trials, dismissals, nolle prosequi actions, certifications for jury trial or appeal applications were reported.

Missouri Supreme Court rules require municipal court clerks to submit the monthly report to the mayor and city council within 10 days following the end of the reporting month.
