Opening the tournament bright and early at 8 a.m., Belle took on Centralia’s Lady Panthers.
Service runs by Grace Busch and Mikal Lough helped the Lady Tigers jump out to an early 7-2 lead.
Two Kenzi Cetroute kills gave Belle their biggest lead of the first set at 11-4.
Seeing their lead cut to 14-10, Busch served the next two points pushing their lead back to six at 16-10.
Unable to overcome two Centralia service runs, Belle saw the Lady Panthers come from behind to take game one, 25-20.
Trailing 17-9 in game two, five Brandi Thompson kills eventually cut the Centralia lead to 24-21 late in the set before the Lady Panthers held on to sweep the pool match taking game two 25-22.
Watching the next two matches, Belle returned to action at 11 a.m., against a fellow Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) foe in Bourbon’s Lady Warhawks.
Trailing 2-0 early in the first set against Bourbon, Lough served four of the next five points giving the Lady Tigers a 5-2 lead.
An attack error on the next point send Bourbon’s Lexi Tackett behind the serving line.
Seeing Tackett serve the next 13 points, Belle suddenly found themselves trailing 15-5 before falling in game one 25-8.
Tied at 20-20 late in game two, a Bourbon service error gave the Lady Tigers a 21-20 lead sending Busch to serving duty.
Serving the next four points, Belle won their first set in a month taking game two from Bourbon, 25-20.
Going into their final pool match with Eugene, Belle needed a split to advance to the consolation championship match.
