MARIES COUNTY — Maries County has completed its list of candidates for the Aug. 4 primary election for the Democratic and Republican parties.
All incumbents are seeking reelection. The presiding commissioner and prosecuting attorney races are contested.
While the deadline to withdraw was May 19, the 11th Tuesday before the election, candidates still have until June 9, the eighth Tuesday before, to withdraw with a court order. If there is an additional printing or reprinting cost, the candidate must agree to pay that amount.
Anyone interest in these positions may still file by 5 p.m. on July 27 as a write-in candidate for the Nov. 3 election. Individuals must file a declaration of intent and cannot run for a party’s nomination for that office.
Positions and candidates include:
Associate circuit judge
• Kerry Glen Rowden, Republican incumbent
Presiding commissioner
• Victor (Vic) Stratman, Republican incumbent
• Shannon W. Thompson, Republican
Circuit clerk/recorder
• Mark Buschmann, Democrat incumbent
County clerk
• Rhonda Rodgers, Democrat incumbent
Prosecuting Attorney
• Tony Skouby, Republican incumbent
• Kathleen Slone, Republican
Collector
• Beth T. Wulff, Republican incumbent
Treasurer
• Angie Pasley, Republican incumbent
Polls will be open 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Aug. 4 for election day.
