Virgil Ray Howser, 76, Dixon, passed away on Thursday evening, Jan. 29, 2026, at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1949, to the late Alston Edward Howser and Bernadine Katherine (Clark) Howser in Dixon.
He was employed with Gascosage Electric Cooperative for 33 years.
Ray was preceded in death by parents, Alston and Bernadine; and brother, Charles Thomas Howser.
He is survived by sons, Matt Howser and wife Sherri of Dixon and Frankie Howser of Castle Rock, Colo.; and mother of his children, Georgette Makras.
Funeral services were held Feb. 3, in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel in Dixon, with Pastor Don Arthur of Rolla officiating.
Interment was in the Freedom Cemetery near Dixon.
