Vincent Dean Woolley, Sr., 71, of Belle, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born Dec. 24, 1951, a son to the late Lloyd and Mildred (Gieck) Woolley in Belle at Dr. Schnalles office.

He was a lifelong area resident and a 1971 graduate of Belle High School. Following high school, Vincent proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Vincent was united in marriage to Theresa Mitchell, Nov. 16, 1974. Theresa survives of their home near Belle.

He retired from the Union-Pacific Railroad after 38 years of employment.

Vincent enjoyed watching Nascar, W.W.E., the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as westerns. He loved being outdoors, camping, fishing the Gasconade or lakes, mushroom hunting, or working in his garden. Vincent liked to play the lotto and although he never won big, he was persistent. He was a man of few words and maybe a bit stubborn, but had a huge heart and a great sense of humor. Above all, Vincent was a family man and dedicated his life to them. He loved spending time with them and especially his grandson, Preston, who he read to every day. Vincent will be missed greatly by his family and those that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Mildred.

Vincent is survived by wife of 48 years, Theresa; daughter, Jennifer Crutsinger; son, Vincent Woolley, Jr.; grandchildren, Megan Brewer and husband Thomas, Nicholas Crutsinger, Alexandra Woolley and Preston Woolley; great-granddaughter, Mabel Brewer; and sister, Sandy Dingley and husband Jim; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service for Vincent was held Saturday, May 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ Belle Restoration Branch with Kevin Runge officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Skaggs Chapel Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle.
