VIENNA — Vichy Solar recently announced in a Jan. 26 press release that the Maries County MU Extension Council and the Vienna Volunteer Fire Protection District are recipients of fourth-quarter 2025 grants through the company’s Community Giving Program.

Maries County MU Extension Council received $5,000 to support agricultural education and community outreach programs. According to the release, the funding will be used to expand 4-H curriculum and project supplies, host a biosecurity drone workshop for local farmers and provide scholarships and materials for public health, nutrition and community garden programs.

“This contribution from Vichy Solar will directly support our 4-H clubs by helping us expand curriculum and project supplies for local youth,” said Rodney Southard, council chair. “It will also allow us to host a workshop that brings the latest research and best practices to farmers in our area. We’re grateful for this investment in programs that strengthen agriculture, support families and help our community stay resilient.”

The Vienna Volunteer Fire Protection District received $2,500 to support upgrades to communication equipment used by first responders. The funding will be used to improve radio interoperability with mutual aid partners and other agencies during emergency response situations.

“We are grateful to Vichy Solar for recognizing the critical role volunteer fire departments play in rural communities,” said Larry Kampeter, chairman of the district, in the release. “Our department serves an area where tornadoes, severe storms and wildfire risk are real concerns and clear, reliable communication is essential. This support will help ensure we can coordinate effectively during complex incidents and multi-agency emergencies, keeping both our community and firefighters safer.”

The Community Giving Program awards grants to nonprofit organizations and groups serving Maries County. Vichy Solar is now accepting applications for the first-quarter 2026 grant cycle.

“Vichy Solar is proud to support the people and organizations doing essential work across Maries County,” said Peter Stockus, community affairs manager, in the release. “These grants help expand opportunities for 4-H youth, strengthen resources for farmers and families and equip local first responders with the tools they need to serve safely and effectively.”
