Mildred Rogers 1934-2026

Mildred Rogers, 91, passed away on Jan. 7, 2026, in Yardley, Pa. She was a longtime resident of Hazelwood, St. Charles and formerly Belle.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1934, to the late Robert and Emma (Hafner) Shanks in Belle.

She was united in marriage in 1951 to Wayne Rogers of Cooper Hill with whom she shared her life for 74 years prior to his passing in June of 2025.

Prior to marriage, Mildred was employed by Brown Shoe Company of Bland. 

After marriage, she resided in Montana and Arizona while her husband was on several military assignments during his service with the U.S. Air Force. Mildred then resided in Hazelwood for over 60 years where she raised her son, Steven and supported her husband during his 34 years with the McDonnell Douglas Corporation.    

She enjoyed traveling with Wayne to numerous places, including all 50 of the United States during numerous family vacations. Mildred also enjoyed homemaking, cooking/baking and reading.

Her faith in God was strong and she rarely missed a Sunday or Wednesday service as a long-time member of the Florissant Church of Christ with her husband. She often enjoyed studying her bible with Wayne and supported numerous Christian charities.

Mildred was preceded in death by husband, Wayne; parents, Robert and Emma; brothers, Delmar and Charles Shanks; and sisters, Edrie Jett, Ellen Richardson and Norma Wehmeyer.

She is survived by son, Steven Rogers and wife Stephanie of Yardley, Pa.; grandchildren, Alyssa Rogers of Yardley, Pa. and Katreena Rogers of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, followed by funeral services, at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle.

Interment will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens near Owensville.
