Timothy John “Tim” McNamara, 71, of Vienna, passed from this life Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Phelps Health Medical Center, Rolla.

He was born Nov. 28, 1952, to Laverne and Flora (Stewart) McNamara in New York.

Tim entered active federal service in the U.S. Army in 1972, at Syracuse, N.Y., and after 20 years of service, he retired with an “Honorable Discharge” in 1992, with the rank Staff Sergeant (E6), at Fort Dix, N.J., as an Aviation Machinist Mate, at the rank of E4. 

He was united in marriage to Marjorie Ellen Coop, May 1998, at Vienna, and together they owned and operated two restaurants.

Tim worked as a truck driver for Stratman Trucking, hauling cattle, and ran Margie’s Café with his wife.

Tim was proceeded in death by parents, Laverne and Flora; granddaughter, Destiny Gladden; and brothers, Dennis McNamara and Kevin McNamara.

He is survived by wife of 25 years, Marjorie of the home near Vienna; son, Robert McNamara of Dixon; daughters, Kriste Neher of Virginia Beach, Va., and Shannon Cummings of N.C.; step-son, Denver Pelc of Vienna; nine grandchildren; and siblings, Vivian Fletcher, Sharon McNamara, Dorothy Viggeano, Don McNamara, Paul McNamara and Elizabeth Palosh.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (today), March 27, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m., in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Vienna, with full military honors to follow outside the funeral home.
