Sheila  May Thomas, 54, Belle passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 13, 1970, to Emory and Sharon (Carter) Hicks in Rolla.

She was a 1988 graduate of Belle High School and a longtime member of Liberty Church of Christ.

Sheila was employed at Mace’s Supermarket for 19 years where she loved her job and made many friends while working there. She also owned and operated Porky’z BBQ in Belle for a time.

Sheila was united in marriage to Mike Thomas July 27, 1990, at the Liberty Church of Christ.

She enjoyed camping and spending time at the river, doing jigsaw and word puzzles, watching Survivor and the Voice, and canning the vegetables that Mike grew in the garden.

Sheila was a great cook and loved making the food for many different events.

Her life was her family and she loved spending time with them whether it was family game night, playing in the swimming pool, the holidays, or just sitting around visiting. Sheila was selfless and always put others’ needs ahead of her own. She will be missed tremendously by her community, her family and anyone who knew and loved her.

Sheila was preceded in death by father, Emory Hicks; brother, Terry Hicks; sister, Beth Mayes; and grandparents, Buel Edward and Mildred “Bill” Heyer.

She is survived by husband, Mike; mother, Sharon Hicks of Belle; children, Leah Boyer and husband Shane of Belle, Amber Peterson and husband Jacob of Freeburg and Jedidiah Thomas and fiancé Emily Duesler of Bland; grandchildren, Alexis, Hunter, Kyndal Rae, Mackinley “Mac”, Jerico, Rhett and Suttyn; and many extra “children” that she had collected through the years via her children, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., (today) Wednesday, May 28, at Liberty Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
