BELLE — Second grade students from Maries County R-2 enjoyed a celebratory trip to Tastee Treat as a reward for their hard work and improvement throughout the school year.
Second-grade teacher Amber Helling accompanied the students during the outing. Helling said the event was meant to recognize the class for a successful year in the classroom.
“This is a great reward for all the things they’ve done and all the improvement that they have made this year,” Helling said.
According to Helling, the reward was paid for by Maries County R-2 Superintendent Dr. Lenice Basham.
As the school year comes to a close, Helling said she appreciated the opportunity to teach the class.
“I just want to say that it’s been a blessing to have them in my room, and I hope that they have a great summer and they’ll get to have the teacher they want next year,” Helling said.
