Ronald Gehlert 1938-2025

Ronald Dean Gehlert, 86, Bland, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Stonebridge of Owensville.

He was born Aug. 5, 1938, to the late John Edward and Laura Ida (Danuser) Gehlert in Belle.

He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Cooper Hill. 

Ronald was united in marriage to Clarissa Ann Given Oct. 25, 1958 in Bland.

He was employed at Grimco, Inc. for many years before retiring.

Ronald enjoyed being outdoors and hunting deer and turkey with bow and arrows, as well as muzzleloaders that he built himself. He liked working in his shop doing woodworking as well as other projects, going fishing and going to garage sales and flea markets.

Ronald was down to earth and enjoyed the simpler things in life. He will be missed greatly by his family and those that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by parents, John and Laura; son, Dennis Dean Gehlert; sisters, Faye and Nadine White; and brothers, Lee, Alferd, Tom, Connie, Charles, Gordon and Robert Gehlert.

Ronald is survived by wife Clarissa; brothers, Gary and Randall Gehlert;  as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Funeral services were held May 26, at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland. Interment was in the Old Bland Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorial contributions suggested to the Old Bland Cemetery.
